After a Holy month of fasting of Ramadan, here come a long weekend holiday! And for our Muslim friends, they are celebrating their Holy-day, Hari Raya.
In Malaysia, we called this Hari Raya Puasa or Hari Raya Aidilfitri. While in Indonesia, it is called Idul Fitri or Hari Lebaran.
This is the most common food that we will eat during Hari Raya. It is made of fragrant Rice or some using glutinous rice, and wrapped with coconut palm leaves. Usually ketupat is served with curry .
And of course, we as chinese always got the chance to have this ketupat in our Malay friends’ house. So, usually we do not need to cook this During Hari Raya, most of our Malay friends are very warm-hearted, they will celebrate this festival with others by organising “Hari Raya Open House” and invite us to their house for food and beverage.
In this festive season, we wish that may all the races live together with harmony and peace to create a better world.
Veganlogy wishes all our Muslim friends have a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
