Chinese Style Steamed Glutinous Rice

For today present my homemade Chinese style steamed glutinous rice recipe.If you’ve noticed, most of my recipes are quite simple and easy .

Steamed glutinous rice is more easier to make than the stir fried version as you only need is to stir-fry the your ingredients of choice separately then mix them together with the soaked glutinous rice and simply steam the whole mixture until cooked.This steamed version produces a softer textured dish.Of course it requires much less ~work ~vegan smilethan the fry version.
Ingredients :-
1 cup glutinous rice, soaked at least 5-6 hours ( or overnight)
2-3 Loving hut vegan nugget or vegan sausages-sliced or cubed-baked in oven until golden brown
3 Dried Shitake mushrooms – optional,soaked sliced or cubed
some carrot ,cubed
4 cooked chestnuts or roasted chestnuts
2 shallot sliced
2 tsp  organic light soy sauce or to taste
pinch  tsp natural sea salt to taste
1/4 tsp organic black soy sauce(optional)
Dash of white pepper
2 tbsp black sesame oil
some coriander for garnish
Method:
Heat wok with 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Fry shallot until fragrant ,put in cube carrot,sliced mushroom, Loving hut nugget cube,and cooked chestnuts.
Add light ”n black soy sauce ,salt,pepper stir fry for few second , then add in the soaked rice and stir fry to mix all well.
Add about 2-3  teaspoon  of water if it starts looking a bit dry.Dish out and place on steaming platter. Lightly sprinkle with about 1 teaspoon of water on top .
Steam over medium heat for about 40-45 minutes or until rice is fully cooked. Serve hot.
*  Note that if you like the texture of your rice to be softer, you can sprinkle more water on the rice lightly as it is steaming now and then.*
Serve hot with some spicy chili sauce or tomato sauce.
