My Vegan Rojak With Raw Beet Root

Malaysia Rojak is  a traditional and popular combination of fruit and vegetable salad dish that found in my country !! This rojak dish famous in Singopore and Indonesia too .

This is my salty,sweet,sour vegan rojak.You can add more chillies if you love hot & spicy rojak and can be tossed up with any combination of  fruits you love…. such as green mango,guava ,jicama ,Jambu( water apple)and the common is cucumber.The standard offering is made with cucumber,fresh ripe pineapple,jicama, green mango ,and my love is buah kedongdong (ambarella fruit) ,and you can add fry bean curd too…tossed with the rojak sauce and topped with white sesame seeds and a generous amount of toasted coarsely ground peanuts.

Fruits and Veggie Used :

Beet Root

Pineapple

Buah kedongdong (ambarella fruit )

Wax/Rose apples (Jambu air )

Kiwifruit

Jicama

Cucumber

Mango

Rojak Sauce Ingredients 1:

3 tbsp Vegan belacan (roasted )

1 tbsp black sesame powder

3 tbsp black molasses(or sweet black soysauce)

3 tbsp palm sugar

1 torch ginger flower (diced)

1 -2 red chilli(if want more spicy can add birds eye chilli)

2 tbsp bragg fluid aminos

1 tbsp tamarind juice

1 tbsp lime juice

salt to taste

2-3 tbsp water

Toppings
1 cup roasted ground nuts /peanuts(ground coarsely) and roasted white sesame seeds.

Directions
Blend red chilies and roasted vegan belacan and blend into paste.Keep aside.In very low heat, mix in 2-3 tbsp  water with palm sugar.Let it cook until palm sugar melts  ,close fire. Slowly add in the palm sugar syrup with soysauce, molasses,pounded chilli , vegan belacan,grounded peanuts, tamarind juice, lime juice , tourch ginger flower, salt to taste . Give a good stir and finally add in sesame seeds power .Stir again.

To serve:
In a bowl , add in cut mix fruits and vegetable, add in the sauce and give it a stir so that the sauce is well combine with all the ingredients, garnish with a generous amount of coarsely ground peanuts and toasted white sesame seeds.

~ Another simply easy Rojak fruit sauce ~

Rojak Sauce Ingredients 2 :

1 tbsp Organic Miso

1 tbsp white toasted sesame seeds

1 tbsp coarsely ground peanuts

1-2 Passion fruit pulp

1 tbsp black sweet soy sauce

1 tbsp plum sugar

1 small red chilli dice

1 tbsp tropical flour

Heat pan with some water add miso, sugar untill sugar  dissolve ,add the tropical flour mix well turn off the heat and add passion fruit ,give it a stir so that the sauce is well combine with all the ingredients, garnish with a generous amount of coarsely ground peanuts and toasted white sesame seeds.
